Work Experience Placements
Work Experience Placements are designed to introduce a job seeker to an appropriate role and workplace environment.
A Work Experience Placement enables clients to:
- Build confidence
- Explore job preferences
- Develop positive work habits
- Demonstrate and improve current skill base
- Identify strengths and weaknesses
- Provides a recent activity to add to a curriculum vitae or job application
- Use the experience gained on Placement in employment interviews
The Guernsey Employment Trust will source appropriate Work Experience Placements on behalf of job seekers and arrange a meeting with the employer, job seeker and Trust representative to agree the terms of the placement. These details are written in to a Work Placement Agreement and distributed to all parties. Employers are required to provide evidence that their Employers/Public Liability Insurance covers clients. We will visit the workplace throughout the placement to provide support and monitor progress.
At the end of the Work Experience Placement a report will be compiled by us summarising the outcome of the placement gained through feedback from the client, employer and the Trust representative. The report will help focus the job search and can identify if support is required to make employment sustainable.
