Safeguarding

At Guernsey Employment Trust, we are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for everyone who accesses our services. We take safeguarding seriously and follow best practices to protect the welfare of our clients, staff, and partners.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Ben Martinson, responsible for overseeing safeguarding practices and addressing concerns. If you have any safeguarding worries, please email Benjamin.Martinson@get.org.gg or call 247999 and ask for Ben.

What is safeguarding?

Safeguarding refers to the actions we take to protect individuals from harm, abuse, neglect, or exploitation. This includes ensuring appropriate support for those who may be at risk.

How to raise a safeguarding concern

If someone discloses that they are being or have been abused or harmed, this information must be taken seriously.  If you have concerns about someone’s safety or well-being, please:

  • Contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead as soon as possible.
  • If our Designated Safeguarding Lead is unavailable, you can reach out to the Deputy Safeguarding Lead by emailing info@get.org.gg or ask for Nikki Ioannou-Droushiotis.
  • In the event of an emergency, or when a crime has been committed, or when someone may be at risk of significant harm outside of standard office hours, please contact the Public Protection Unit at Guernsey Police on 222222.
  • During office hours, you can also make contact with the Adult Safeguarding Team on 226923, or by emailing PerruqueHouseAdmin@gov.gg. For safeguarding concerns relating to children and young people you can contact MASH, on 723182.
