Employment Support Officer

Sarah joined the team in September 2023 as an Employment Support Officer. She brought with her many years of experience as a health and social care lecturer, having taught in further education for over 20  years. Before that she worked in a wide range of childcare settings.  

 

Her qualifications include a Degree B.A (Hons.) in Professional Studies: Early Childhood Studies from the University of Manchester and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Adult, Higher and Further Education.  

 

Sarah is dedicated to promoting equality and diversity, recognising that every person should have positive opportunities in employment. She strongly believes in the benefits of a diverse workplace and the positive contribution each individual can bring to the workforce. Sarah hopes to bring her skills of working with individuals to get to know clients’ particular strengths and interests, to support them to find and maintain meaningful employment.  

 

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys gardening, describing herself as an enthusiastic beginner. Reading is one of her passions, and she enjoys a wide range of genres and really doesn’t mind if it’s a paperback, kindle or audio book. Sarah is also is an active member of Soroptimist International of Guernsey, which is part of a worldwide organisation of women. The group take part in several projects supporting women and girls locally and internationally.
