Kate Garnett

Employment Support Officer

Kate joined the team at GET in February 2023, following 17 years working with young people in Education. A role that included teaching research skills, listening support, mentoring and careers guidance. Alongside this Kate volunteered for the Guernsey Youth Commission and Guernsey Counselling Service.

Having originally trained in Hospitality Management, working in the UK and France, she learnt the importance of communication, team work and attention to detail. Her career then led into event management, marketing and PR, working on a range of projects for corporate and government. Again, roles where communication and team work were key to success.

Kate is now combining these experiences to help others on their own employment journey, helping to research, develop skills and prepare for work.

Outside of work you’ll see her on her bike enjoying Guernsey’s natural beauty, learning Mandarin (slowly!), and enjoying a good book.
